Pender is an Operation Christmas Child Relay Center!

Pender is excited to be an Operation Christmas Child relay center this year! We will be receiving packed shoe boxes from the community between Nov.18th-25th.

Please help us by volunteering for one or more slots.Training will be held Sunday, Nov. 17th after service, or just prior to your shift.

Positions include:

Greeting – no lifting involved, just welcome and thank visitors dropping off their shoe boxes.
Receiving boxes – unload shoe boxes from vans/cars, log them, and pack them in shipping cartons
Truck packing – pack up our truck for delivery of the cartons to Alexandria, the next stop in the journey of a shoe box.

UMW Budget Meeting ~ Nov. 17th

The United Methodist Women will meet to discuss the 2014 UMW budget on Sunday, November 17 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm in the Cornerstone Room (Room 215).

All women of Pender are invited to attend and discuss the UMW mission and budget priorities for the coming year.

Help the Typhoon Victims

In the wake of Typhoon Haiyan, the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is actively mobilizing resources to respond to this latest and largest in a series of disasters to hit the Philippines over the past twelve months.

You can give monetarily to UMCOR’s relief and recovery work in the Philippines by making checks payable to Pender with UMCOR Relief #982450 noted on your check.

All of your gift, 100 percent, will be used to help those in need.
