Cushing's and kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma) patient, founder, owner and webmaster of Cushing's Help and Support, web designer, piano teacher and mom. I am a Cushing's patient who has dealt with Cushing's symptoms since 1983 (or earlier) and the aftereffects of pituitary surgery since 1987. Because I had very little support for my symptoms, diagnosis and surgery, I decided to try to make things a little better for other patients and started a support site called Cushing's Help and Support in 2000. The site has grown to astronomical numbers. This disease isn't as rare as doctors have told us! In 2006, I was also diagnosed with kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma). My left kidney and adrenal gland were removed. Having an adrenal gland removed complicates my post-Cushing's symptoms. I am not planning to have any more rare and unusual diseases. The Way of Witness

For many people, the term evangelism has a bad reputation because of the way it has been abused by mean-spirited preachers and manipulative politicians. Others are intimidated by the idea of sharing their faith. Some suggest that faith in Christ is a private affair, not to be shared with others. In spite of our hesitations, the New Testament is clear that we are called to share with others the good news of what God has done in Christ. How do we do that? Join us and find out.

Kids’ Harvest Fest, Saturday, October 24th

Who: Pender UMC Members

What: Kids Night Out (and thus Parents Night Out)

Where: Pender UMC Common Ground Room

Why: Celebrate Fall and our love for Christ while Parents have a Night Out

When: Saturday October 24,

4:30-5:30 pm – Trunk or Treat

5:30 – 8:00 pm – Kids Night Out

Cost: $5 per Kid or $10 total per Family

Pender UMC Members:

Come to the Trunk or Treat Event organized by our Pender Youth starting at 4:30 pm and visit the Pender UMC pumpkin patch. Then drop your kids (potty-trained pre-schoolers through 4th grade) with the Childrens’ Council Volunteers at 5:30 for an evening of fun! We will have dinner, crafts, play time and movies.
