Cushing's and kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma) patient, founder, owner and webmaster of Cushing's Help and Support, web designer, piano teacher and mom. I am a Cushing's patient who has dealt with Cushing's symptoms since 1983 (or earlier) and the aftereffects of pituitary surgery since 1987. Because I had very little support for my symptoms, diagnosis and surgery, I decided to try to make things a little better for other patients and started a support site called Cushing's Help and Support in 2000. The site has grown to astronomical numbers. This disease isn't as rare as doctors have told us! In 2006, I was also diagnosed with kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma). My left kidney and adrenal gland were removed. Having an adrenal gland removed complicates my post-Cushing's symptoms. I am not planning to have any more rare and unusual diseases. Women’s Boutique/Flea Market ~ Oct. 1-3

The Fall Boutique is right around the corner! Donate all gently used clothing, jewelry, housewares and toys on Sunday, Sept. 27 and Monday, Sept 28 in the Cornerstone hallway, or in the pod prior to the 27th.

Join us for a light lunch before we begin to set up on Sunday, Sept. 27, after the 11am service.

Enjoy a wonderful time working togetherand spending time with others in our Church family.

Light lunch provided for workers Sunday through Wednesday. Cashiers, baggers & cooks are needed throughout the event — sign up at the Sign-Up Center in the Narthex.

“A Disciple’s Path”

September 13 – October. 18, 2015

“A Disciple’s Path” guides individuals to take the next step in discipleship and become dynamic, engaged followers of Jesus Christ. The study combines a Wesleyan understanding of our growth in God’s love and grace with the time-tested practices of spiritual discipline expressed in the membership vows to uphold the church with our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Participants will develop spiritual practices, discover their unique gifts, and become engaged in ministry that brings transformation in their own lives, the lives of others, and the world.

September 27: The Priority of Presence ~Acts 2:42-47

Each of us has an instinctual desire to belong. Yet why do we spend so much time with our earbuds in, staring at our phones? Maybe that’s a symptom of something larger afoot. How can we better connect with one another and truly be present to one another?
