Pastor Dan expressed it like this… it is the Pender High Holy Week of the Flea Market and Boutique. Pender United Methodist Church turns itself inside out for this event.
We have furniture, household goods, electronics, clothing, shoes, handbags, and jewelry. We have sports equipment, toys, strollers, stuffed animals.
The Ladies knock themselves out for the bake sale, which includes (but is not limited to) snickerdoodles, lemon tarts, chocolate chip cookies, banana nut bread, pumpkin bread. Do you like brownies? Blondies? Brownies with icing, with m&ms, with sprinkles, or with peanut butter frosting? Gluten free items are also available.The Men fire it up with the all American grill featuring burgers and dogs.
All proceeds are used for Christian missions. Pender UMC supports missionaries in over 100 countries, and has sent small mission teams to over a dozen countries. For example, one missionary supported by Pender’s mission committee is your own Maryann Weber, Director of Pender Regift Thrift Store.
After the sale, remaining material goods will be distributed to West Virginia and Honduras via other Methodist church partners.
