Wednesday April 23rd:
- Of note, guest speaker will be Mr. Hameed Afzali who spent 7 years as a top level interpreter for the US and coalition forces in Afghanistan. His experiences will provide a very different perspective regarding the war in Afghanistan vs. what we see on the news. Recently, Hameed and his family were identified as supporters of the coalition by the Taliban who threatened to kill all of them. Due to this high risk situation, he and his family were rapidly extricated by the State Department to the US under a special visa program. Currently, he is living in Silver Spring, MD with his wife and two children. Having arrived in the US with very little support, the NVMMO church coalition, of which Pender is a member, has been supporting Hameed and his family start their new life in America. We think you will find his story highly interesting.
Wednesday May 28th:
Wednesday June 25th:

Join us Holy Thursday evening at 7:30pm for the presentation of the Lenten Cantata “Colors of Grace” by Joseph and Pamela Martin. This musical work explores the greatest lessons of Jesus’ ministry (service, obedience, humility and forgiveness) and how He taught these lessons by example. Through Christ, the full spectrum of God’s grace is reflected in beautiful hues upon our lives, particularly during Holy Week.
The Cantata will be presented by the Pender Sanctuary Choir. The service will include communion to commemorate the Passover meal.

We can’t make the journey through the Lenten Season without recalling Jesus’ words – “Forgive them, Father, they don’t know what they’re doing.”
There were so many who were instrumental in causing Jesus’ torturous path to Golgotha — even the apostle and the false witnesses who were paid for betraying Jesus and lying about His ministry. And yes, we can’t forget that in God’s incredible plan, Jesus took our sins willingly with Him to that awful cross.
Don’t miss this opportunity to focus on the amazing self-control and tolerance of Jesus when faced with the total injustice of a mockery of a trial.
