Upcoming January Sermon Series

whoami

Please join us in worship for our upcoming sermon series beginning in January 2014:

WHO AM I? – The question that all of us struggle with. Are we defined by what we do? The roles we play? The people we associate with? Who am I?

January 5 – Why We’re Here (John 1:1-18)

Why are we here?  What is our purpose?  Jesus said, “We are light.”  In the midst of the darkness we are light for the world.  Look around you.  It is easy to see the darkness.  How can we make a difference?

January 12 – Who We Are (Mark 1:9-13)

We are God’s children in whom He is well pleased.  That affirmation should fill and guide our lives throughout the year.  Spoken at Jesus’ baptism they are God’s affirmation for us.

January 19 – What We Do (I Corinthians 12:12-27)

We are the body of Christ!  Christ’s hands and feet in the world is our work.  Let’s see how we do that as we Know God, Love God and Others, Grow in God, Share God and Serve God.

January 26 – What We Say (John 1:35-51)

We are the body of Christ!  Christ’s hands and feet in the world is our work.  Let’s see how we do that as we Know God, Love God and Others, Grow in God, Share God and Serve God.

Sermon Sunday December 22

Joy from the Inside Out John 15:9-11, Luke 1:39-55

Joy is the GIFT that is given to all the world by Jesus. A promise made not only in his birth but also in His living. But do we really take the joy, live in the joy and share the joy?

As Christmas is only a few days away is it really “Joy To The World?”

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” (John 15:9-11)

Sermon December 8: Joy Because of a Coming Lord -Psalm 98

Sermon December 8: Joy Because of a Coming Lord –Psalm 98

Joy to the World the Lord is come. Do we really understand what it means to call Jesus Lord? In this season of baby Jesus and sentimentality do we realize the baby came to save but also to judge? Righteousness is the gift of Christmas and that goes beyond trees and presents and googly feelings. Righteousness is what we need and what we will live in during this ADVENT.

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn-shout for joy before the Lord, the King.” (Psalm 98:4-6)

New Sermon Series: Joy to the World!

Sermon December 1: Sing Out the Joy –Isaiah 42:10-17

Advent is a time to take stock of the fact that Joy comes to the world because the Lord has come. Isaiah foretold that when the Messiah came, He would give us JOY in the midst of the harshness of life.

I wonder can we find the joy in the midst of the events in our economy, in a marriage gone sour, in a nation that is conflicted?

Let’s discover the joy the Lord will bring.

“Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth…”

(Isaiah 42:10)

What A Difference ONE can Make –John 6:1-13

I am ONE but I am ONE. One person purposed in their heart with the passion of God can change the world. One gift made out of gratitude multiplies when placed in the Savior’s hands. One small amount can feed the world. What is your part in making a difference?

Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there). Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.

(John 6:10-11)
