Athens: Paul’s Dangerous Journey to Share the Truth
2019 VBS THEME
Imagine leaving a life of privilege and power to face angry mobs, painful imprisonment, and chain-breaking earthquakes—all to spread the life-changing truth of God’s love. Learn the jaw-dropping story of the Apostle Paul…straight from Paul himself! In an ancient “anything goes” culture, Paul will inspire kids to share the truth of God’s immeasurable love in the 2019 Holy Land Adventure Vacation Bible School.
NEW SCHEDULE
This year, we’re mixing it up and trying a new type of VBS schedule – Sunday afternoons from 3:00 – 5:30 p.m., with a family dinner to follow each week. Your child will experience four (4) rotations each Sunday, including Craft, Music, Recreation, and Story Telling/Bible Lesson along with an Opening Rally Kick Off each week. VBS will be held on these four consecutive Sundays:
July 28, 2019
August 4, 2019
August 11, 2019
August 18, 2019
VBS will be open to Pre-K (potty-trained ages 3 & 4), and children who will be rising Kindergarten to 6thGrades in the 2019-2020 school year.
Cost: VBS is $30 per child (third child’s registration is FREE).

Focus your telescopes! Galactic Starveyors reignites children’s sense of discovery and exploration as they marvel at the wonders of the starry sky. Most of all, they gaze toward the God who created the universe and everything in it learning that He wants to have a personal relationship with them! Come on into the clubhouse and show kids that God is over the moon in love with them! Kids will rotate through music, recreation, snack, crafts and storytelling!
For ages 3 years (potty trained) through 6th grade.
Adults and 7th through 12th graders are welcome to volunteer.
The theme for this summer’s Pender UMC music camp will be “Star Quest.” We will be exploring music that expresses the goodness of God’s creation, and tells of the truth of His word in the Bible. Children will be rotating through handbell, Orff, drumming and craft classes. In addition to these “out-of-this-world” classes, we will be preparing and presenting excerpts from the musical “Star Quest – The Search for the Stolen Scriptures.” Join us this year as we blast off to fun and song!
For ages rising 2nd grade – rising 6th grade. Registration is open now.
We are also seeking teens and adults who would like to be a part of our staff.

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:4-7)
