UMCOR Health Kit Donations

Mary Martha Circle is collecting the following items for UMCOR Health Kits for our Pastors to take with them to the Annual Conference in June.

Please provide donations by June 7th in the Church Office.

  • 1 hand towel
    • 15 x 25 inches to 17 x 27 inches;
    • Kitchen, cleaning, and microfiber towels not acceptable.
  • 1 washcloth
  • 1 comb
    • Comb needs to be sturdy and longer than 6 inches long;
    • No pocket combs or picks please;
    • Rattail combs and combs without handles are acceptable with a minimum of 6 inches of teeth.
  • 1 metal nail file or nail clippers
    • No emery boards, please.
  • 1 bath-size soap
    • 3 oz. and larger sizes only;
    • No Ivory or Jergens soap due to moisture content;
    • Do not remove from original packaging.
  • 1 toothbrush
    • Adult size only;
    • Do not remove from original packaging.
  • 6 adhesive bandages
    • ¾ inch to 1 inch-size;
    • Common household Band-Aids.
  • 1 plastic bag
    • One-gallon size sealable bag only.
  • $1.00 to purchase toothpaste

Health kits provide basic necessities to people who have been forced to leave their homes because of human conflict or natural disaster. Health kits are also used as learning tools in personal hygiene, literacy, nutrition, and cooking classes.

Poland Bingo Night

The Poland Short-term Mission team going to Poland at the end of June is hosting a Bingo Night Fundraiser on May 30th at 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Enjoy dinner (pizza and hot dogs) and homemade desserts, with games beginning shortly after. Excellent prizes (Redskin tickets / Nationals tickets / Restaurant Gift Cards / FitBit). Please come out and support our mission trip. Bingo cards sold for donations.

 

The Poland mission team is also collecting the following donations:

  • any size color beads and charms to make necklaces and bracelets
  • tennis racquets that are still in good condition

Please drop off your donations in the box in the Narthex marked “Poland Sports Camp.”

  • May 10: Sunday School Class: The Good and Beautiful God (began September 21) (Room 205 – Library) A new Sunday School course immediately after the 9:30 am worship service led by Brian and Angie Green will be reading and discussing this book.   • May 10: Sunday School II for adults. New Study: The Good and Beautiful Community  10:45 am-noon

What we say shapes and molds who we are and what we become.  Do you make a positive confession.  Do the words that come out of your mouth reflect the graciousness and goodness that God wants to give us?  Let’s talk about what the positive words we speak can do.
