FOREST, Va. – As part of its 2013-2014 U.S. tour, World Help is proud to present Children of the World International Children’s Choir. The choir, comprised of orphaned and disadvantaged children from several different countries, will be performing at Pender UMC on October 16 at 7:30.
The choir represents a rich and culturally diverse set of backgrounds and experiences, each with an urgent story to tell. This year’s Rescue Tour calls attention to the staggering impact that poverty, malnutrition, and dirty water have on millions of children around the world.
Through the powerful medium of song, dance, spoken word, and creative media, Children of the World provides a compelling message of hope and opportunity, leaving an unforgettable impression with audiences across the country.
The children have performed in such venues as Focus on the Family, Brooklyn Tabernacle, and Disney World.

We will be hearing from guest speakers from within Pender and from the local community about their experiences and about ministry opportunities. We will spend time during the afternoon working onsite in small groups on mission projects. Additionally, we will have several breakout discussions and fellowship activities focused on how the UMW can make a difference in our community.
Doors will open at 9:00 am for registration and a light breakfast.
Program will start at 9:30 and will last until approximately 3:00 pm.
Registration fee is $10 per person to cover the cost of breakfast and lunch, payable on the morning of the event.
The Naomi Project is a free, confidential, interfaith program sponsored by the Virginia Council of Churches. It matches one volunteer with one pregnant or newly parenting woman in a mentoring friendship that extends through the pregnancy and the baby’s early development.
If you would like to volunteer to be a mentor, contact Laura Greenspan at 703-860-2633.
There is a special need for Spanish speaking volunteers.
