Watch this video to experience the 233rd Virginia Annual Conference held June 19-21 in the Berglund Center in Roanoke. Attendees elected 2016 General and Jurisdictional Conference delegates and voted to petition General Conference to remove the “incompatibility” statement from the Book of Discipline. You can also view highlights of the memorial service, ordination, mission worship service, Imagine No Malaria report, “fixing” of clergy appointments and more.
Pastor Dan was definitely there!
From Chuck Knows Church: An Annual Conference is a regional body that governs much of the life of the “Connectional Church.” Sound confusing? We agree. Chuck will try to make sense of “Annual Conferences” when he makes a conference call.
Pastor Dan Elmore is back with us. Dan became our Associate Pastor, again, in 2015 after serving here previously 2010-2012.
During the time in between, he started a church from scratch, and then helped another existing congregation reach out to new people, especially those who don’t “do church.” He brings those same goals to Pender.
He is passionate about leading people to discover more about God. In doing so, we always discover more about ourselves (funny how it never works the other way around).
When Dan isn’t thinking “church,” he’s enjoying time with his family; his beautiful wife Bekah, his daughter Chloe and his son Mark. They love to take advantage of all the great family activities in the NOVA/DC region.
Please join us this Sunday, July 5, in worship at the 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00 Services.
Pastor Dan Elmore will be preaching at all three services.
Title: “Don’t Believe Me, Just Watch” Scripture: Proverbs 16:9 Description: When Pastor Dan left 3 years ago, little did he know he’d be returning to serve at Pender again! Join us as he shares about what he’s been up to and where he senses God leading into the future.
Listen to 224 past sermons by Pastors Kenny Newsome, Kevin Havens and Dan Elmore and others in the Pender Podcast.
