Weather Update: Worship Online This Sunday (January 25)

Due to the weather, all in-person worship services and Sunday activities are canceled this Sunday, January 25, 2025, the Third Sunday after Epiphany.

We will record a worship service and share it online at 10:00 AM, and we invite you to join us from the comfort and safety of home via YouTube or our Facebook page.

Pastor Bruce Johnson will preach on “The Fabric of Our Unity,” offering a message of hope and connection as we worship together—apart, yet united.

If you are able, we invite you to continue supporting the ministry of Pender through online giving at penderumc.org or by mailing your offering. Most importantly, please take care of yourself and one another.

Stay safe, stay warm, and know that you are held in prayer.

Due to inclement weather, we invite you to join us online for worship this Sunday as Pastor Bruce Johnson preaches “The Fabric of Our Unity.”

In this timely message, we will reflect on how God calls us together—even when we are physically apart—and how faith, grace, and love weave us into one community in Christ. Scripture reminds us that unity is not about sameness, but about being bound together by God’s purpose and call.

Matthew 4:12–23

Though weather may keep us at home, we remain connected through worship, prayer, and the Word. Join us online as we gather virtually to seek God’s guidance and celebrate the unity we share as the body of Christ.

Join Us for the JDC Christmas Party!

Matthew 25:39 ‘When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

Pender is in mission to incarcerated Fairfax youth as they await their sentencing. We worship monthly, and once a year, we host a Christmas Party.

It is a particularly difficult environment in which to establish a party mood. But I am Maryann Weber, and I bring party. Is joining me something you could do and is on your heart?

Covid restrictions are lifted and we can bring as many as who want to come. Still masks, though.

Please join us this morning, August 27th, at our 8:15, 9:30 and 11am Worship Services.

Pastor Kenny will continue his sermon series at our 8:15 & 11am services on “The Games We Play.”

At our 9:30 Service, Pastor Dan will continue his sermon series entitled “Playlist” and will be preaching on “Scars to Your Beautiful” (Ephesians 2:8-10).

From last weeks message in this series. At our 9:30 Service, Pastor Dan began a new sermon series entitled “Playlist” and preached on “Million Reasons” (Hebrews 12:2-3). Your life has a soundtrack. Every peak, every low note, and every rhythm make up a part of who you are. Don’t just shuffle through your days — create a Playlist worth listening to!

Happy Father’s Day!

Please join us this Sunday, June 18th, at our 8:15, 9:30 & 11am Worship Services. It’s Father’s Day and our very own Tony Hines will be preaching at all 3 services on “As For Me and My House, We Will Serve the Lord” (Mark 5:21-42)

This Sunday is also Graduation Sunday and we will be honoring our high school and college graduates at our 11am Worship Service. Together we will celebrate this wonderful milestone in their lives! (All graduates are encouraged to wear their caps and gowns!)

Please join us today, February 5th, at our 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00 Worship Services.

At our 8:15 & 11:00 Services, Pastor Kenny begins a new sermon series entitled “Coming to Terms with the Story – Parables of Jesus.” All of us love a good story. Jesus loved a good story and told them as parables.

For the next 4 weeks we will see what the stories really say and come face to face with Jesus’ story. The sermon title for this Sunday is“What Have You Done with the Story?” (Mark 4:1-20)

At our 9:30 service, Pastor Dan begins a new sermon series entitled “#Lifehacks” and his message this Sunday is entitled “Who Do You Love?” (Matthew 5:43-48)
