New Sermon Series ~ Campmeeting – LOST

We will return to a part of our heritage as Methodists, the Campmeeting.  It will be a time to sing the old hymns, enjoy the upbeat worship and hear the Gospel preached that will help those who are lost and wandering in our community.

Sermon on Sunday, August 4th:  LOST Sheep – Luke 15:1-7

The parable of the Lost Sheep is one of the most famous in stained glass.  But the story is about real issues and real difficulties in life.  All of us feel LOST at some point.  When we simply wander off and get lost it is all the worse.

Let’s see if the lost can be found this Sunday.

“I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.    (Luke 15:7)

Sing ‘n Celebrate August 4 at 7:00PM

Sing "N Celebrate

Jesus knows what you and I really need, and He knows exactly what the world needs from us. He also knows that the more we choose to have a dialogue instead of a monologue with Him, the more we will choose to trust Him.

We hope you will choose to worship with us, as we focus on entrusting our concerns into Jesus’ care.

Happy Mother’s Day

mothers-day2
Mother’s Day is today, and we hope you’ll take some time this weekend to pay respects to your mother–or if that isn’t possible, to somebody in your life with who embodies the grace and wisdom we associate with godly mothers.

With the holiday in mind, we present several resources from Bible Gateway for mothers:

What’s a mom’s greatest responsibility?

A reflection from the Mom’s Devotional Bible challenges mothers to pass on to your children your faith in Jesus.

Pass It On

2 Timothy 1:5–7

Additional Scripture Readings: Deuteronomy 6:4–9; 1 Peter 3:15

Who introduced you to Jesus?

Perhaps it was a college roommate. Or your husband. Or a friend from a local women’s group. Maybe it was a minister or a youth group leader. And maybe, just maybe, it was your grandmother or even your mom.

What another did for you, God is asking you to do for your children: Pass along your faith in Jesus. How?

  • Make church a priority. Find a place of worship that welcomes children and works to make Jesus real to them. Then make it a point to attend regularly. Your children will grow with God as they bond to a place and to the people who teach them each week.
  • Set a “Jesus Time” at home. Take a few minutes each day to read together from the Bible, to pray for each other and to allow for questions about God. Keep it simple and short; make sure such times are age-specific and practical.
  • Use the teachable moments in the day. As you plant the garden, shop for groceries, take a walk, go about your daily chores, listen to your children and respond to their questions with information about God in the everyday.

Someone introduced you to Jesus. It’s now time for you, Mom, to pass it on to your children.
