Graduation Sunday ~ June 12, 2016

graduation

This Sunday, June 12th, is Graduation Sunday. We will be honoring all of our high school and college graduates during our 11:00 am service. (All graduates are encouraged to wear their cap and gowns!)

At our 8:15 and 11:00 am Services, Pastor Kenny will be preaching on “Staying Positive in a Negative World” (Romans 12:1-2); and Pastor Dan will also be preaching on the same sermon title and scripture at the 9:30 Service.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God–this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:1-2)

Pender’s Vision Statement:

By following Jesus and reaching out to others, we seek God’s transformation of ourselves and our world.

The Great Commission

“Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:16-20)

Join our New Study — Messy Spirituality!

messy
Our 11am Adult Sunday School Class will be starting a new study on Sunday, May 22, on the book entitled “Messy Spirituality” by Mike Yaconelli.

“Messy Spirituality” is a strong antidote for the spiritual perfectionism in us all. Here are truths that can cut you loose from the tyranny of ought-to’s and open your eyes to the deep spirituality of being loved, shortcomings and all, by the God who meets you and transforms you in the midst of a messy and unpredictable life.

If interested please contact Colin or Allison Tucker by clicking on this link, or the church office. Child care is provided!
