Operation Christmas Child Update

Thank you for supporting Samaritan’s Purse shoe box project by donating supplies & shipping costs, packing boxes, receiving boxes from the community and taking them to our local collection center! Many children will be touched by the love of Christ that is in you. Please continue to pray that children will feel that love and come to receive Christ as the shoe boxes are even now making their way to the children.

Some fun facts:

10.5 Shoe boxes shipped by contributions from Pender
250 Shoe boxes packed by Pender & Pender donations
65 Volunteer hours receiving boxes from community
2,726 Shoe boxes brought to Pender
26,536 Shoe boxes collected in Northern Virginia

United Methodist Men’s Dinner ~ January 28th @ 7pm

Our guest speaker for the evening will be our Pender Regift Thrift Store Executive Director, Maryann Weber.

Maryann will be sharing some of the wonderful God stories that she and her team have been blessed by and have witnessed over the past nearly 3 years!

Other Items on the agenda include breaking bread together, devotional time, hypothermia, mission trips, and mulch sale.

Everyone is welcome, so please join us for a wonderful evening!

Bring one or more cans of soup or other canned foods this month for SOUPer Bowl Sunday!

We want to fill Pender’s food pantry and help stock WFCM’s shelves!

Containers will be available in the Narthex. Thank you for blessing those in need!

January 11: Sunday School Class: The Truth Project (began September 21) This Focus on the Family’s DVD series, with 26 one-half hour lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett, is the starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. lesson discusses the relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life.
January 11: Sunday School Class: The Good and Beautiful God (began September 21) (Room 205 – Library) A new Sunday School course immediately after the 9:30 am worship service led by Brian and Angie Green will be reading and discussing this book.
