June 2, 2013 ~ The Bible Tells Me So Show
Sunday, June 2, our children will present their latest musical, The Bible Tells Me So Show. This lively show finds teams competing in a game show format to test their knowledge of the promises in God’s Word.
Come and experience a musical game show that explores the many promises that God has given to us and how faithful he is to all those promises.
The musical will be performed at the 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00 am services.
Thank You!
- A HUGE thank you to everyone who made the boutique and flea market a huge success!Whether you did it by volunteering as a cashier, helping with set up, donating items, inviting others to shop or did some shopping yourself, because of your efforts, the boutique alone brought in over $8,000 that will go toward the UMW budget to support missions, both inside and outside the church as well as other Pender activities! In addition, the flea market brought in over $5,000 for the UMM budget and also as an outreach opportunity as we financially supported several men from West Virginia with jobs for the week. God is Great!
- Rev Kev and JC Reigns would like to thank ALL of the children and adults who volunteered to help make An Evening to Remember such an enjoyable and memorable event. 5 bus loads of residents from 5 different nursing homes in the area attended and they all had an amazing time singing, clapping, laughing and dancing.
- BIG THANK YOU from Carol Wilson to all who contributed their time and efforts to help make the Mother-Daughter Tea a success!! The UMW also wants to express our appreciation for the music by JC Reigns which added so much!

Sunday’s Scriptures ~ May 26, 2013
Sunday’s scriptures:
Genesis 1:1-3
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
and
Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
What You Might Not Know About the Bible App
From my email – here are the most common Bible App questions we hear from the YouVersion community around the world and, of course—their answers:
- How can I use the Bible App during a flight or on the subway? Even if you can’t connect to the Internet or your provider, you can still use the Bible App “offline.” To be able to read offline, sometime when you are connected (Wi-Fi works best), download any available Bible versions you’d like directly onto your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Android device. Then the next time you can’t get a signal, you can still read. (On iOS devices, you can even use your Notes and Bible Plans offline!)
- I started a plan, but I’ve missed a few days. Can you help? Fallen a little behind on your Bible Plan? Happens to the best of us. In the Bible App, go to Plans, Settings (the gear icon). Scroll down and tap Catch Me Up. Your plan schedule shifts so that the last day you completed becomes yesterday. (Any partially completed days will still be unfinished). It’s easy!
- Can I get my Bible Plan emailed to my Inbox? Sure! In the Bible App, go to Plans, Settings (the gear icon) and turn on Email Delivery. Specify the time of day and the Bible version you’d like to receive. (You can set up email delivery at bible.com too.)
- I’m new to the Bible. Where should I start? Welcome! To jump right in, try John chapter 1, which begins with the life of Jesus and his disciples. Prefer more structure? Go to Plans, Browse, New for a list of recently added Bible Plans. (When you subscribe to a Bible Plan, each day the Bible App shows you what to read.)
- How is the Verse of the Day selected? Drawing from a variety of sources, we choose each Verse of the Day to encourage, motivate, and inspire you, and to let God’s Word speak to you wherever you are. The Verse of the Day appears every day on the main “Today” view of the Bible App and on our Facebook page.
Still have questions? Passionate volunteers are ready to answer. Visit support.youversion.com or go to Help, right in your Bible App. We’re here to help!
