Live Nativity Drive Through

From 8:30pm – 9:30pm at our campus located at 12401 Alder Woods Drive in Fairfax, VA.

On a looped course through our church’s parking lot, you’re invited to drive past a Nativity scene of Pender UMC members, staff, and friends.

This drive through event is a safe and fun way to experience the joy of the Savior’s birth.

Strike the Rock. Sunday, September 27, 2020

Don’t miss tomorrow’s worship services at 9 and 11:15am.

At the 11:15 Common Ground Contemporary service, we will meet Pender’s new Worship Leader, Uriah J. Moore.

At 9:00 and 11:15 am on Sunday, September 27, 2020 Rev. Will White continues the Worship Series “Through the Wilderness.“

The third Message will be “Strike the Rock”. The Scriptures for Sunday will be Exodus 17:1-7, Psalm 78:1-4, and Psalm 78:12-16.

Following God’s direction may seem odd at times. Standing apart from the crowd, speaking against the casual hate, clinging to hope in difficult times is the narrow path. But we’re called to strike the rock and bring forth the refreshing water for the whole community. What actions of holy boldness can you feature in worship today? What seemingly fruitless action actually sustains and strengthens those around you? What source of living water can the church be so that the surrounding community can have their thirst quenched?

“Through the Wilderness.“

The second Message will be “What Is It?” based on Exodus 16:2-15, Psalm 105:1-6 and Psalm 105:37-45

Manna, that’s what we’re celebrating today. Manna in the wilderness, sustenance for the journey. But also a question. “Manna” in Hebrew translates as, “What is it?” The perfect question for this odd stuff that just appeared in the wilderness every morning. You can picture the dining table, when the teenagers come down from their loft in the tent, and they stare at the stuff mom has served up, and they wrinkle their noses and look at each other, and then look at mom and ask the inevitable question: “What is it?” And mom nods and says “Yes.”

Rev. Will White will preach a sermon titled, “Blessed Be the Ties?” based on 1 Thessalonians 5:14, 1 John 1:7 and Matthew 22:37-39

Goal: To encourage Christian fellowship.

This Sunday, we’ll depart a little from the process of growing in faith to talk about a tool that helps make it happen.

Q: What needs to be in place for Christian growth to occur?

A: A Christlike character of the church, small groups, and accountability, help drive “disciple-making”.

Today’s Sunday school is all about Psalms – A Call to Worship. The talented Lucero family sings, Kimiko and Phil Hannum, Jeff Raich answer kid friendly questions about Psalms, a collage with Raymond Pandley (sort of hahaha), and, of course, sign language with Mrs Laurie Lett.
