Sunday Sermon ~ June 9, 2013

living-sacrifice

June 9th Sermon ~ Living Sacrifices
Living and sacrifice don’t go together.  However, that is exactly what it takes to live the Good News of Jesus in our lives.  Let’s learn how we can die to live and what we can do when we are yielded to Christ.
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship.  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.”  (Romans 12:1-2)

May 12th Sermon ~ “Jesus-Savior and Lord”  (Philippians 2:8-11)

We believe in Jesus.  But what do we believe about Jesus?  There are two titles that must be acknowledged in our lives about him, Savior and Lord.  We don’t use those titles much today so what do they mean?  Let’s see this Sunday.

“And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death-even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”  (Philippians 2:8-11)
