New Sermon Series ~ Campmeeting – LOST

Aug. 4:  LOST Sheep – Luke 15:1-7

The parable of the Lost Sheep is one of the most famous in stained glass.  But the story is about real issues and real difficulties in life.  All of us feel LOST at some point.  When we simply wander off and get lost it is all the worse.  Let’s see if the lost can be found this Sunday.

Aug. 11:  LOST Coin – Luke 15:8-10

A lost coin can mean a lot or not anything at all these days.  Who stoops down to even retrieve a penny anymore?  Yet the coin mentioned here has GREAT worth.  What would you do to find it?  Let’s see what happens when we lose something because of carelessness.

Aug. 18:  LOST SON – Luke 15:11-24

This parable is second only to the Good Samaritan in familiarity.  It is because at one time or another we have all been here.  People get lost as well.  Most of the time it is our own choice.  What happens when we are lost?  How do we get home?  Let’s see this Sunday.

Aug. 25:  LOST Brother – Luke 15:25-32

We normally look at the lost as being those outside the church.  But what about the lost brothers.  Those within our fellowship and yet still are lost.  How do we minister to them and what good news do we have for them?  Let’s see this Sunday.

At 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00AM

Sunday, July 7 – Judging Others/Judging Ourselves –Romans 14:1-19

What does it mean to judge someone?  Is it necessary? Is it loving?

Do we take stock in our own lives before we look at others or is it vice versa?

Let’s explore if the word judging should be in our vocabulary and if so, how do we live it?

At Pender UMC, Sunday July 7: 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00 am.  The sermon archives will be available early next week.

Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.”    (Romans 14:19)

It’s Not Too Late!

sunday-school-summer

We have such dedicated and talented Sunday School Teachers here at Pender and we would love to give them a break this Summer!

If you can volunteer for at least one Sunday this Summer, please stop by the Sign Up Center in the Narthex on Sunday and pick a date on the sign up sheet.

Teaching our children is a true blessing to all who serve the Lord in this wonderful way!

There are only 10 weeks of Summer Sunday School
3 classes each week
2 adults in each class

This means we have 60 positions to fill for the Summer. After Council meeting Wednesday night, we have 43 openings still available.

Thanks for helping us fill these positions!
