We just recently completed our church-wide study and message series called,“A Disciple’s Path,” in which we rediscovered our identity as followers of Jesus in the Wesleyan tradition. An important aspect of living out our faith together is what John Wesley called, “watching over one another in love.” How do we do that, especially today in the 21st century?

The Youth Orchestra is open to all youth grades 7 through 12 who play a wind, brass, stringed or percussion instrument. New members are always welcome! The Orchestra plays 4-5 times during Sunday morning worship from December-June. More information.

October 25: Prison Ministry, 1:00 pm. Join us in worship with the young men and women at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center. Your participation matters to the residents, as the staff repeatedly tells us how we make a difference in the young men and women’s lives and the lives of the staff! All you need to do is show up and worship! We meet at 1:00pm at the Juvenile Detention Center. Hope to see you there!

Do You Knit or Crochet?

Sanctity of Life Ministries would love to receive some baby blankets for their clients again this year. Please bring your creations to the Church Office by November 22, for delivery before Thanksgiving.

A good baby blanket should be 3 to 4 feet wide by 3 to 4 feet long and knit or crocheted fairly tightly so that little fingers won’t get caught between the stitches. Thanks for your participation!

Please join us for a wonderful time of worship this Sunday, October 18th, at our 8:15, 9:30 & 11:00 worship services.

Pastor Dan will continue our sermon series based on our church-wide study, “A Disciple’s Path,” and will be preaching at all 3 services on “The Story in Your Own Words” (John 1:35-49)

For many people, the term evangelism has a bad reputation because of the way it has been abused by mean-spirited preachers and manipulative politicians. Others are intimidated by the idea of sharing their faith. Some suggest that faith in Christ is a private affair, not to be shared with others. In spite of our hesitations, the New Testament is clear that we are called to share with others the good news of what God has done in Christ. How do we do that? Join us and find out.

Pender Pumpkin Patch

Our Youth Pastor, Tim Lyberger, would LOVE to have lots of help! Hey teenagers — serving the Lord in this wonderful way also counts as community service!

The Pender Pumpkin Patch will be open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm until October 31st. Extra help greatly appreciated and needed during these hours.
