Do You Knit or Crochet?

baby-blanket

Sanctity of Life Ministries would love to receive some baby blankets for their clients again this year. Please bring your creations to the Church Office by November 22, for delivery before Thanksgiving.

A good baby blanket should be 3 to 4 feet wide by 3 to 4 feet long and knit or crocheted fairly tightly so that little fingers won’t get caught between the stitches. Thanks for your participation!

operation-gratitude

Pender’s Military Ministry would like to provide handmade scarves to Operation Gratitude for shipment to service members overseas. Scarves should be in neutral/subdued colors and deposited into the camouflage box in the Narthex by Nov. 1st.

We also want to provide lap afghans to veterans who are patients at the Veteran’s Hospital in Richmond. Christmas colors/patriotic colors are requested and lap afghans should be placed in the camouflage box by Nov. 29th.

For questions, please see or contact Kay Creel by clicking here.

Prayer Shawl Ministry News

prayer-shawl-feature

prayer-shawl1The Prayer Shawl Ministry (formerly Casting God’s Love) has been busy!

Here is a picture of a recently completed lapghan, held by Mary Ann Hinkle and Betty Kelly.

Someone donated several of the squares to the Prayer Shawl Ministry.  Mary Ann Hinkle finished the rest of the squares and sewed them together.

It is very warm and will make a wonderful gift to someone needing comfort.

In addition, the picture below shows a triangle shawl created by Ruth Haynie and modeled by Sue Pierce.  This shawl has already been delivered and is currently providing comfort and support.

If you would like to have your completed shawl shown on the website, please send your picture to Sue LeStrange at lestrangesue@gmail.com.

We continue to meet 6:30-7:30 PM each Wednesday this summer.  Join us!

Thank you!

thank-you

Thanks to all who graciously knitted and crocheted scarves for our deployed military service members.

What a blessing these will be to the service members who will receive them in holiday care packages (sent out via Operation Gratitude at the end of this month).
