Honoring Military/Veterans at Sing ‘N Celebrate

Sing ‘N Celebrate

Nov. 6th, 5-6pm in the Fellowship Hall

Stanley Mikulak, a Marine veteran of World War II, and Joel Nelson, an active military member of the Air Force, will share with us about their service to our country. If you have served in the past or are presently serving, we hope to see you there with your families.

As Judd Gregg has quoted – “The veterans of our military services (and those presently active) have dedicated their lives to their country and deserve to be recognized for their commitment.”

Veterans Day

The observance of Veterans Day, Nov. 11, began almost a century ago.

In the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the Allied nations and Germany declared an armistice – a temporary cessation of hostilities – in World War I. Commemorated as Armistice Day the next year, Nov. 11 became a legal federal holiday in the United States in 1938. After World War II and the Korean War, Armistice Day became Veterans Day, a holiday dedicated to U.S. veterans of all wars.

Now is the perfect time for congregations to engage in ministry with active troops and the families left behind.

Help Female Veterans

Would you like to help our female veterans who are struggling with homelessness?

Final Salute Inc. is a non-profit whose mission is to provide homeless female veterans with safe and suitable housing. Transitional housing or emergency financial assistance is provided to help the female veterans overcome their temporary circumstances and work toward achieving positive goals in their lives.
