John Wesley Quote

“Never dream of forcing men into the ways of God. Think yourself, and let think. Use no constraint in matters of religion. Even those who are farthest out of the way never compel to come in by any other means than reason, truth, and love.”

~John Wesley (Sermon 37 “The Nature of Enthusiasm”).

We will have breakfast snacks provided during the 8:15 and 9:30 worship services, with a full blown, “old fashioned” Methodist pot luck after the 11:00 service.

Our ministry areas and cluster leads will be on hand to answer questions and greet our guests.

It is our hope you will join us, with a friend, to make a difference on Back To Church Sunday on September 8th!

Come and invite a friend for a spectacular day of food, fellowship, new faces and ministry opportunities!

Abraham Lincoln on Methodists

In response to your address, allow me to attest the accuracy of it’s historical statements; indorse the sentiments it expresses; and thank you, in the nation’s name, for the sure promise it gives.

Nobly sustained as the government has been by all the churches, I would utter nothing which might, in the least, appear invidious against any. Yet, without this, it may fairly be said that the Methodist Episcopal Church, not less devoted than the best, is, by it’s greater numbers, the most important of all. It is no fault in others that the Methodist Church sends more soldiers to the field, more nurse to the hospital, and more prayers to Heaven than any. God bless the Methodist Church—bless all the churches—and blessed be God, Who, in this our great trial, giveth us the churches.

May 18, 1864 A. LINCOLN

From Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln. Volume 7.Lincoln, Abraham, 1809-1865.

Sing ‘n Celebrate ~ June 2 at 7:00 pm

In the May-June issue of Upper Room, we are asked – “Do you think God is more apt to listen to the prayers of the church leaders, the president or world dignitaries because of who they are or the magnitude of their problems or responsibilities?”

Join the congregation of SNC as we are reminded that God listens to ALL of us with the same passion, concern and love.
