Later Today: Sing ‘n Celebrate ~ Celebrating Military
November 8th at 5-6pm in the Fellowship Hall
We have been glad to hear that our new earlier hour of meeting is very popular! This upcoming SNC will give all of us the opportunity to express our appreciation for our members of the military.
We not only are inviting all Pender military members to attend this service, but we will also have the privilege of hearing two members of the military share about their experiences in serving our country.
In addition, Kay Creel of Pender’s Military Ministry will present some scarves and lap afghans knitted by our Prayer Shawl Ministry, which will be blessed by Pastor Kenny before being sent to deserving members of the military.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Join us Wednesday nights at the church from 6:30 to 7:30pm, starting September 9, as we create shawls, lap afghans, and scarves, which are then given to people in need of prayers and comfort.
Beginning knitters and crocheters are welcome!
If you have any questions, please contact Susan LeStrange.
Love to Knit or Crochet?
Pender’s Military Ministry would like to provide handmade scarves to Operation Gratitude for shipment to service members overseas. Scarves should be in neutral/subdued colors and deposited into the camouflage box in the Narthex by Nov. 1st.
We also want to provide lap afghans to veterans who are patients at the Veteran’s Hospital in Richmond. Christmas colors/patriotic colors are requested and lap afghans should be placed in the camouflage box by Nov. 29th.
