Cushing's and kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma) patient, founder, owner and webmaster of Cushing's Help and Support, web designer, piano teacher and mom. I am a Cushing's patient who has dealt with Cushing's symptoms since 1983 (or earlier) and the aftereffects of pituitary surgery since 1987. Because I had very little support for my symptoms, diagnosis and surgery, I decided to try to make things a little better for other patients and started a support site called Cushing's Help and Support in 2000. The site has grown to astronomical numbers. This disease isn't as rare as doctors have told us! In 2006, I was also diagnosed with kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma). My left kidney and adrenal gland were removed. Having an adrenal gland removed complicates my post-Cushing's symptoms. I am not planning to have any more rare and unusual diseases. The powerful story of THE SHACK movie will connect with you-whether you are searching for faith or lost it somewhere along the way. And for everyone who is hurting and knows what it is like to lose someone, THE SHACK film offers a message of real-life hope.

Starting Sunday, March 5, Pender is hosting a five-week sermon series using Scriptures and video clips from the film to help you trust God more completely, connect with Him in a deeper way and experience life-changing love and forgiveness even in the midst of pain.

Tonight: Ash Wednesday Service and Spaghetti Dinner

Pender’s American Heritage Girls will host an Ash Wednesday Spaghetti Dinner on March 1st, at 6 p.m. (served until 6:45, prior to our Ash Wednesday Service).

Donations welcome, proceeds will help support the needy in our community.

Dinner includes your choice of white or wheat pasta, meat or vegetarian sauce, garlic bread, salad & dessert. Gluten-free option available if requested in advance.

Ash Wednesday Service on March 1st at 5:30 am and 7:30pm

Join us on March 1st at 5:30 am for a Prayer Service with Ashes and/or at 7:30 pm for our Ash Wednesday Worship Service. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. Lent is a time when many Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner and Races

Join us as we kick off Lent Pender-style with our annual pancake dinner and races! Enjoy a time of fellowship, dinner and the ever-laughable races on February 28th at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall.

Celebration of our 2016 Pender Man & Women of the Year!

Please join us to celebrate our wonderful Pender Man of the Year (Butch Kinerney) and Pender Women of the Year (Carrie Cahoon & Tammy Chipman)

Let’s celebrate together at a light brunch in their honor in the fellowship hall on February 26th after the 11 am service. Each of the award recipients will speak briefly about their time here at Pender. Come out and show your gratitude for all that these servants have done for our church and community!
