As we approach the beginning of Lent, and continue to focus on our relationship with God, this SNC will provide for us an opportunity to more fully realize that the depth of our awareness of our Father God’s love for us is key in our growth in the Christian life.
The author, David Eckman, shares that “the focus Person for what is done in the “love relationship” is God, and Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit sustain that relationship.”

Bible Gateway Lent Devotionals Are Here Christians around the world observe Lent in a wide variety of ways. Some commit to daily Scripture meditation, devotional reading, or regular prayer. One common practice during Lent is to “give up” something you take for granted as an act of self-denial–and as a way to center our priorities around Jesus Christ and nothing else. However you choose to observe Lent this year, we’ve got several email devotionals designed to help you stay focused on Jesus during the long journey to Easter:

We have wonderful news to share – the Pender UMC Visitation Ministry (aka Smiles on Wheels) is up and running! It is a blessing to have their services and we are looking to you, our church community, to let us know of folks who might enjoy a visit from our volunteers. The group of women have been trained by Chris Hanak, and have been busy since the fall bringing smiles and Christ to those who are not able to come to church on a regular basis.
